Something Far Away

I got to know you, day by day. I learned what you liked and what you disliked. We weren't together but I wished we were. I can't do anything about how I feel. I figured, that maybe by just dropping a hello here and there would let you know that I wonder about you. 

I know we can't be together now, but maybe staying friends would've been better than nothing. But the answer I got from you, was something I was never truly prepared for, that once that time comes around, we'll move on.

I understand, because we're far away, and life will become busy for the both of us. I understand, because this may never be something concrete. 

I understand all of this, but it still hurts. I really liked you.
